Firefighter Matt Greensill
After six months of tough training Matt passed the finished line in four hours 25 minutes. To date Matt has currently raised £827 for The Robert Jones and Angus Hunt Orthopaedic research department in Shropshire.
Firefighter Greensill commented, "The day was an amazing experience and I loved every step! During the height of my training I was running up to 40 miles per week which was tough as I had to fit training in around my shifts as a firefighter. I am delighted at my time especially as it was my first marathon and I would like to thank my friends, family and work colleagues for their words of encouragement and also members of the public who supported me by donating online.
"I chose this charity in particular as it’s such as unique organisation - the orthopaedic research centre is known worldwide as a centre of excellence so it’s great to be able to give something back. I am just short of my £1,000 target, so for anyone who would like still sponsor me donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/matt-greensill."
