Firefighters are urging people in Tamworth who have not already done so to book their free Home Fire Risk Check now, following another chip pan fire in Tamworth.
Crews from Tamworth and two crews from over the border responded to the call at 10.00pm on Sunday evening at a property on Trefoil Road, Amington in Tamworth. The fire was out on arrival however firefighters were required to provide oxygen therapy to a six month old baby who was suffering from smoke inhalation. The baby was treated at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
Firefighters at the scene replaced smoke alarms at the property, as the downstairs alarm was not working, and are due to return to the property to carry out a free Home Fire Risk Check.
