Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will be launching their summer safety campaign at Staffordshire's County Show next week.
The annual two day event is taking place at Staffordshire's County Showground next Wednesday and Thursday, between 8.30am and 6pm. Representatives from the fire and rescue service will be joining partner agencies including Staffordshire Police and Civil Contingencies Unit.
The stand, which will be located at plot D, near to the main arena, has something to keep all members of the family entertained. Not only will firefighters be on hand with one of their brand new fire engines but the boat rescue team will be showing members of the public some of their water rescue equipment, like the inflatable walkway which is used to rescue people. The animal rescue team will also be staging their "inflatable cow" to demonstrate how firefighters rescue larger animals who are in distress at incidents.
"With summer finally here the County Show comes at a perfect time for us to get across some key fire safety messages for families to remember when out enjoying the sunshine."
Stafford Assistant Area Commander, Keith Murray
Stafford Assistant Area Commander, Keith Murray commented: "With summer finally here the County Show comes at a perfect time for us to get across some key fire safety messages for families to remember when out enjoying the sunshine. We will also get to meet with members of the public who live in our more rural communities."
Other teams from the Service visiting the event include risk reduction teams, who will be showing some of their specialist smoke alarms for people who are hard of hearing and as always they will be taking home fire risk check referrals and the Services recruitment team, who will be offering information for people about careers within the fire service.
Visitors will also be able to speak to the team who are actively involved with the redevelopment of the new community fire stations throughout the County.
The Service has teamed up with supermarket chain; Sainsbury’s who will be supporting the summer safety campaign by displaying promotional leaflets in all of their stores.
