The affected area is approximately 100 x 300 metres of grass and gorse and the fire is believed to have been started deliberately as there are multiple seats of fire. The main fire is now out however the fire has penetrated the ground and become deep seated in some areas.

Fire breaks have now been put in place to prevent the fire from spreading anything further and good progress is being made to fully extinguish it. The land owner is aware of the situation and is working alongside Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Crews will remain at the scene for the rest of today and are likely to be on site for the rest of the week.
