Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Fire Service attend Midsummer Mayhem

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will be attending the annual ‘Midsummer Mayhem’ event that will be taking place this Sunday. Crews from Newcastle will be at the FREE family event, which will be held in Lyme Valley Park from 11am until 4pm. A range of attractions will be available with something to offer all of the family.

The Fire Service will be staging live road traffic collision demonstrations throughout the day, Welephant will be out and about, and specialist appliances from around the County will be available for people to have a look around. Other activities include the smoke house and a fire safety gazebo where families will be able to visit for fire safety advice.

"Not only do they raise money for local charities but they are also a great opportunity for local organisations to meet their communities."

Newcastle Area Commander, Helen Harrison

Helen Harrison, Area Commander for Newcastle said: "The event at Lyme Valley has been running now for three years – and they have all been a huge success. Not only do they raise money for local charities but they are also a great opportunity for local organisations to meet their communities. As well as all the fun activities that will be going on there will be the opportunity to get advice from both the Fire Service and our partner organisations who will be hosting stands on the day - and of course our Fire Service mascot, Welephant will be on hand to entertain the children."

Refreshments will also be available throughout the day and parking will be available for visitors.
