Cannock Firefighters Scrub up for Charity!

Firefighters from Cannock and members of The Butts Motorcycle Club are holding a charity car wash on Saturday August 14th in support of team Fire and Ice GB and The Butts Charity Appeal.

"It is particularly satisfying to work with the Butts Motorcycle Club as they are a local group dedicated to helping those in need, and in particular younger members of our community."

Cannock Watch Manager, John Lawrie

Team Fire and Ice GB are hoping to compete in the 100th Anniversary Race to the South Pole to raise money for Fire Fighters Charity and SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) Forces Help (see notes to Editor).

The car wash will be held at the station on Old Hednesford Road, Cannock from 10am until 3pm.  As well as cleaning cars, firefighters will be on hand to answer questions about fire safety and take referrals for Home Fire Risk Checks.

The Butts Motorcycle Club has raised in excess of £12,000 pounds over the past two years while supporting The Fire Fighters Charity and local youngsters with disabilities.

The Butts Motorcycle Club Chairman, Lou Lewis, said: "We have developed close links with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service through Cannock Fire Station, and are planning future Charity events which support local groups across a range of needs within our community.

"We aim to have a dedicated fund which will enable the club to help a number of beneficiaries each year."

Cannock Watch Manager, John Lawrie said: "It is particularly satisfying to work with the Butts Motorcycle Club as they are a local group dedicated to helping those in need, and in particular younger members of our community."

A selection of generous sponsors who have provided some fantastic raffle and auction prizes for the day and one lucky couple will receive the first prize of a bed and breakfast and evening meal at one of Cannock’s top hotels.

Everyone is welcome on the day, with a special prize for the weirdest vehicle brought to the wash. For further information please contact Watch Manager John Lawrie on 01785 898513.
