Road Traffic Collision A518

Fire and rescue crews from Abbots Bromley, Uttoxeter and Stafford attended a road traffic collision on the A518 in Chartley just after 4am this morning.

"The incident involved one car that had left the roadway. One male driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters using specialist equipment.”

The call was received from a lorry driver who was passing and noticed the vehicle on the side of the road.

Station Manager Kevin Griffiths said: “The incident involved one car that had left the roadway. One male driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters using specialist equipment.”

The casualty was taken to Stafford General Hospital by land ambulance.

Firefighters left the scene at 5.21am.
