Fire in Brindley Ford

Crews from Biddulph, Kidsgrove and Burslem were called to a fire involving a workshop used for car storage in the early hours of this morning.

"We believe this fire was started deliberately as there are no other obvious causes."

The call came in at 0.45am from a concerned neighbour who could see flames through trees to the rear of Bemersley Road in Brindley Ford. On arrival, firefighters found an outbuilding was well alight and used two main jets to tackle it.

Station Manager, Mark Wilson said: "The fire has completely destroyed the workshop and a car as well as damaging the door and rafters of an adjoining brick outbuilding.

"We believe this fire was started deliberately as there are no other obvious causes."

The incident was closed at 3.30am.
