Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is looking to recruit 10 volunteers to help support the delivery of community fire safety in the Stafford area.
"This is a great opportunity for people either looking to volunteer or those who are unemployed and are looking to widen their skills."
David Steele, Risk Reduction Manager
A recruitment event will take place at Stafford Fire Station on Friday November 12th from 10.00am – 3.00pm for interested parties to come along and find out more about the project, which will involve successful recruits helping with Home Fire Risk Checks and community events.
David Steele, Risk Reduction Manager said: "Following the success of the Newcastle volunteer recruitment, we are rolling the scheme out into the Stafford area.
"This is a great opportunity for people either looking to volunteer or those who are unemployed and are looking to widen their skills. We would encourage anyone who is interested to give us a call and we can provide more information about the role or further details on the open day."
Over 20 people applied to be a volunteer at Newcastle Fire Station in June this year and the 10 successful volunteers have been busy helping out at events since then, including the M6 Safety Day at Keele Services in July.
For more information about the scheme, please contact Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service on 08451 22 11 55 and ask to speak to a volunteer co-ordinator or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Further information can also be found on our Volunteer Support Officer Programme page.
