Fancy Being a Student Firefighter?

If you’re aged between 12 and 18 and fancy seeing what life as a firefighter is like then you could be in luck, as Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is launching a brand new firefighter scheme at Eccleshall Fire Station next week.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged between 12 and 18 to learn to work as part of team as well as get a genuine insight into life as a firefighter."

Starting on December 1st and every following Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm, the Eccleshall and Woodseaves Student Firefighter scheme will run, allowing young people a taste of life as a firefighter.

Activities will include basic fire and rescue skills, firefighting techniques, road traffic collision management and casualty care. Student Firefighter Course Leader, Jess Patten said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged between 12 and 18 to learn to work as part of team as well as get a genuine insight into life as a firefighter.

"If anyone is interested in enrolling or would like further information then just give us a call or come alone on Wednesday December 1st to see what it is all about."
