Garage Fire In Wombourne

Fire and rescue crews from Wombourne and Kinver attended an incident on Bratch Lane in Wombourne yesterday evening.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one main jet and one hose reel jet to tackle the fire which involved a car that was well alight inside a domestic garage."

The call was received at 7:45pm last night reporting a garage fire. Due to the adverse weather conditions fire crews faced difficulty accessing the property that was situated on a steep hill.

Station manager, Al Bateman said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one main jet and one hose reel jet to tackle the fire which involved a car that was well alight inside a domestic garage. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, due to a fault with the car."

Firefighters left the scene at 10.28pm.
