Firefighters Hosting Christmas Fun Day

South Staffordshire firefighters are hosting a Christmas fun day at Featherstone community centre off Banbury drive this Saturday from 10.30am until 3.30pm.

"Parents and members of the community will have the chance to talk about what's good and what could be improved in the community and how by working together with the various partner agencies we can develop things."

During the day, a road traffic collision demonstration will take place alongside the police and ambulance service and there will also be a chip pan fire demonstration.

The ambulance service will be providing basic first aid advice and demonstrations throughout the day and the local police and central motorway police will be giving advice on everything from using mobile phones whilst driving to drink driving and general road safety information.

Crew Manager, Loren Hughes said: "The aim of the day is promote road safety and fire safety in the home throughout the winter months, particularly during the Christmas period. Information will be available on the day from all of the emergency services and many other agencies including a driving instruction to give advice on driving at this time of year.

"Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Welephant mascot will also be in attendance and the Featherstone nursery will be open as well for the little ones to take part in activities throughout the day.
