Stafford firefighters will pay a special visit to the children’s ward at Stafford General Hospital this Christmas Day.
"Hopefully our visit will put a smile on the faces of the children who are too poorly to spend their Christmas at home."
Argos and the Early Learning Centre have generously donated presents that firefighters will deliver to the children spending Christmas Day in hospital.
Firefighter Mitch Stafford from Stafford Fire Station said: “In past years the firefighters at Stafford have visited the hospital on Christmas Day and we wanted to continue this good will gesture. Hopefully our visit will put a smile on the faces of the children who are too poorly to spend their Christmas at home.
“We would like to thank Argos and The Early Learning Centre for donating the gifts and for their full support.”
Gill Myers, Store Manager for Argos in Stafford said: “This is a great opportunity to give back something to the community, particularly at this time of the year and we are very proud to be supporting Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.”
Firefighters will be supplying Argos and The Early Learning with Home Fire Risk Check leaflets to display within the stores, encouraging people to book a free Home Fire Risk Check and informing people about winter fire safety.
