Fire in Horninglow

Fire and rescue crews from Burton, Barton under Needwood and Swadlincote attended an incident on Rolleston Road in Horninglow yesterday afternoon.

”Firefighters used two main jets and two hose reel jets to bring the fire under control. One woman from the property was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.”

The call was received at 1.09pm reporting a grass fire. Upon arrival firefighters were faced with a number of outbuildings storing combustible materials that were well alight.

The fire quickly spread to a nearby derelict pub and smoke logged an adjacent domestic property.

Further investigations have revealed that the cause of the fire was accidental.
