Hilda Mills has celebrated her 90th birthday in style as firefighters today treated her to a VIP visit to Cannock fire station.
"We hope Hilda has had the best 90th birthday possible and wish her all the best for the future."
Cannock Firefighter, Kevin Abrahams
Hilda has always had a keen interest in fire stations and firefighters - she even celebrated both her 80th and 70th birthdays at Cannock Fire Station.
Cannock Firefighter, Kevin Abrahams said: "When Hilda’s relatives approached us again to see if we could facilitate a visit to the station for her 90th birthday we were only too happy to assist.
"Hilda has visited the station several times previously however we hope this visit even more memorable for Hilda. She has been given a personal tour of the new fire station as well as the old one so she could see what has changed since her last visit and get a sneak preview of the brand new community fire station. Hilda was then shown photographs of the construction stages of the new station and enjoyed a sit down with a cup of tea alongside the crew.
"She has also had her photograph taken with Cannock’s oldest serving firefighter, Graham Degg who is 60, next to the Cannock appliance and was presented with some flowers from the team at Cannock.
"Whilst this was taking place, the staff at Hilda’s care home were arranging a surprise party ready for her return. We hope Hilda has had the best 90th birthday possible and wish her all the best for the future."
