Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Fire Service Awards Give MORE Recognition

15/02/2011

It is almost time to find out who the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service heroes for 2011 are.

"The winners in each category will be announced next month and we’re thrilled that Nick Hancock has accepted our invitation to host the event."

Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service

This year’s MORE Staff Awards take place at The Moat House, Stoke-on-Trent on Thursday March 3rd. The event will be hosted by local celebrity Nick Hancock.

Among the ten prizes awarded is a publicly nominated Fire Service Champion Award that is given to the individual or team that have demonstrated outstanding community spirit, and gone beyond the call of duty to help people overcome difficult situations. The remaining categories are nominated by staff for their colleagues and partner organisations.

Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Peter Dartford, said: "Vital to the success of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is the people that form the organisation, so it is important that we recognise them and celebrate the hard work they do 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

"Over 100 nominations were received and a team of staff from across the organisation have had the difficult and unenviable task of shortlisting the finalists in each category.
