"We would encourage anyone who is home when we come calling to take us up on our offer – it could just save your life."

From Monday 21st February firefighters will be in a different area on Monday through to Thursday and will be offering residents the free checks from 10am until 3pm each day.
South Staffordshire Assistant Area Commander, Ian Dawson said: "We would encourage anyone who is home when we come calling to take us up on our offer – it could just save your life.
"A Home Fire Risk Check is to help us identify any potential fire hazards in your home, some of which you may not yourself even realise is a hazard. We will also ensure you have working smoke alarms and fit new ones if you don’t.
"A Home Fire Risk Check is also your chance to ask us any fire safety questions you have and we will do our best to help keep you and your family safe from fire in your home.
"There is no catch - it is a completely free service and all of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service carry photo identification with them and will show you this before they enter your home."
