Local Councillor Spending Day on Station

Councillor Simon Tagg will be spending time behind the scenes at Newcastle Fire Station on Wednesday March 23rd.

"It is important for our fire authority members to understand the job we do and the best way for them to do that is to join us!"

Cllr Tagg will be kitted out with the appropriate fire kit for accompanying firefighters to any incidents and will also be carrying out Home Fire Risk Checks in the local community with crews.

Station Manager, Andy Kinsman said: "It is important for our fire authority members to understand the job we do and the best way for them to do that is to join us! Cllr Tagg will be getting a taster of life as a firefighter on Wednesday, including interacting with members of the local community and local businesses."

Cllr Tagg added: "Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service play a crucial role in protecting the residents of Newcastle. I am looking forward to observing the work of our firefighters first-hand and also taking part in the important fire prevention work carried out by the Service."
