Student Firefighters Pass Out

A group of student firefighters will be awarded for successfully completing their course at a passing out parade held at Lichfield Fire Station on Friday.

“The student firefighter course has been a great success which has brought out the best in the youngsters. The pupils seem to have really enjoyed the course; it’s been a great experience and a real challenge for them.”

The group of 5 students will be presented with a certificate by Paul Cullen, Lichfield’s Assistant Area Commander. Afterwards they will demonstrate to their family the practical skills they have learnt.
They have attended the course once a week over the last 12 weeks at Lichfield Fire Station where they have learnt training and squad drills, road traffic collision extrication procedures, hose running and pumping, first aid and fire safety in the home.

The pupils that have completed the course are from local schools and colleges around Lichfield.
