Brewood resident Nancy Pritchard has celebrated her 100th birthday with Brewood firefighters and was presented with flowers and a special cake to mark the occasion.
"We hope Nancy takes away some lovely memories from her time at the fire station."
Brewood Crew Manager, Loren Hughes
Nancy, who is a member of the Older Person’s Wellbeing Course at Brewood Fire Station, was presented with the flowers and cake by Older Person’s Advocate Sonja Oatley and Brewood firefighters at her home on Four Ashes Lane, Brewood.
Brewood Crew Manager, Loren Hughes said: "Nancy is a valued member of the Older Person’s Wellbeing Course at Brewood, and also our oldest participant. We thought it would be nice to pop over to her home, which is just around the corner, to recognise her special birthday and help her to celebrate.
"Her daughters were there with her as well and afterwards her friends and family threw a party for her at home."
The Older Person’s Wellbeing Course is a six week long course for over 65s and is aimed at educating older people in fire safety, home security and exercise and nutrition. Nancy has participated in the past five weeks of the course and will be completing the course next week.
Loren added: "Nancy is still a very independent lady and despite being 100, walks to the fire station un-aided each week to join her other course participants. We hope she takes away some lovely memories from her time at the fire station."
