Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Fire and Rescue Service at County Show!

27/05/2011

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will once again be at the Staffordshire County Show next week.

"The County Show comes at a perfect time for us to get across some key fire safety messages for families to remember when out enjoying the sunshine this summer."

Events Manager, Jude Russell

The annual two day event is taking place at Staffordshire’s County Showground next Wednesday and Thursday, between 8.00am and 6pm. Representatives from the fire and rescue service will be joining partner agencies including Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The stand, which will be located at plot d, near to the main arena, has something to keep all members of the family entertained. Not only will firefighters be on hand with one of the brand new student firefighter appliances but the boat rescue team will be showing members of the public some of their water rescue equipment, like the inflatable walkway which is used to rescue people.

Events Manager, Jude Russell said: "The County Show comes at a perfect time for us to get across some key fire safety messages for families to remember when out enjoying the sunshine this summer. We also hope to meet members of the public who live in our more rural communities."

Other teams from the Service visiting the event include the risk reduction team who will be taking home fire risk check referrals and speaking to people about the Service’s cooking safety and grass fire campaigns. Visitors will also be able to speak to the team involved with the development of the new community fire stations throughout the County and parents with children aged between four and eight years old will be able to sign up to the free Welephant fan club.
