A total of 3,530 people have visited the brand new Community Fire Station in Cannock in the past two weeks, during the drop-in sessions, education visits and the free family fun day.

“We are delighted with the amount of interest local people have shown in their brand new community fire station and we never expected to be welcoming so many through the doors!"

Area Commander Stuart Claughton.

There were also 273 applications to join the free Welephant club, for four to eight year olds, and £1,113 was raised for The Fire Fighters Charity.

Cannock Area Commander, Stuart Claughton said: “We are delighted with the amount of interest local people have shown in their brand new community fire station and we never expected to be welcoming so many through the doors!

“On the free family fun day we held last Saturday, we had 2,500 people attend and over the two drop-in sessions we had over 270 people come for a first look around.

“We hope that members of our local community will become familiar faces to us in the future and encourage anyone who hasn’t popped in to see the station and meet the crew to do so when you’re next passing.”

The brand new community fire station comes complete with community facilities, including a community room available to hire free of charge.
