Free Fire Checks Offered to Horninglow Residents

12/09/2011

Horninglow residents are being urged to take firefighters up on the offer of a free Home Fire Risk Check.

"We would encourage people to take us up on our offer – its completely free and smoke alarms will even be fitted free of charge if you don’t have any or yours are not working properly.”

Burton Risk Reduction Officer, Jason Gardiner

Burton firefighters will be in the area from September 14th carrying out Home Fire Risk Checks or alternatively making an appointment to return at a later date and carry out the assessment.

Burton Risk Reduction Officer, Jason Gardiner said: "There are quite a few homes in the Horninglow area that we have still not carried out Home Fire Risk Checks at.

"We would encourage people to take us up on our offer – its completely free and smoke alarms will even be fitted free of charge if you don’t have any or yours are not working properly.”

"The fire engine will be parked in the area so anyone who isn’t at home whilst we’re out and about but would like to have a free Home Fire Risk Check can just pop to see the firefighters on the appliance instead and arrange to have one."
