Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Awards Ceremony

Fire and Rescue Service personnel from across the County have been awarded for their long service and good conduct at a presentation ceremony last night.

The medals and certificates were presented at an awards evening held at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Headquarters. The medals were presented by The Lord Lieutenant, Sir James Hawley and the certificates were presented by The Chairman of the Fire and Rescue Authority, Cllr Len Bloomer.

The Long Service Award is presented to members of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service who have completed 20 years continuous service, and the Fire Service Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is awarded to members of the Fire and Rescue Service who have completed 20 years operational service and have demonstrated, during this period their good conduct, loyalty and devotion to duty.

The recipients from across the County who were all awarded with the medal and certificate were as follows –

Firefighters Steven Burton from Longton Fire Station.
Firefighter Howard Dalton from Brewood Fire Station.
Group Manager Tim Hyde from Service Headquarters.
Firefighter Pete Jones from West Midlands Fire Service.
Firefighter Colin Massey from Longton Fire Station.
Firefighter Alan Rogers from Hanley Fire Station.
Firefighter James Taaffe from Sandyford Fire Station.

Station Manager Neil Pedersen from South Staffs Area Command was awarded with the Good Conduct Medal.
