Pupils Receive Prizes for Poster Competition

Pupils at Berkswich Primary School had a surprise presentation from Stafford firefighters yesterday morning during their assembly.

“We work closely with schools to educate youngsters about the dangers of fireworks and are very pleased to see how many pupils have engaged in this positive activity."

Primary schools in Stafford were asked to design a poster promoting firework safety and a total of 150 posters were entered into the competition.
The posters were judged by Firefighters from White Watch at Stafford Fire Station  and the winner and runners up were presented with various prizes from Halfords, Argos, Pizza Hut and Trentham Gardens monkey forest tickets
The winner of the competition was Hannah Millington from year 6, who won a £40 Frankie & Benny’s voucher and 4 Apollo Cinema Stafford tickets.
Other prizes winners were -
Maisie Clarke year 1- Leasowes Primary School, Eva Gilroy year 6, Luke Osborne year 5, Freya Evill year 4, Isabella Stewart year and Thomas Croft year 1 all from Berkswich Primary School.
Firefighter Phil Wooliscroft said: “We work closely with schools to educate youngsters about the dangers of fireworks and are very pleased to see how many pupils have engaged in this positive activity. 
“The winning poster is going to be produced and used this year in the run up to Bonfire night.”
