This year’s MORE Staff Awards take place on Thursday March 1st at the County Showground in Stafford and will be hosted by BBC’s Joanne Malin.

Among the nine prizes awarded is a publicly nominated Fire Service Champion Award that is given to the individual or team that have demonstrated outstanding community spirit, and gone beyond the call of duty to help people overcome difficult situations. The remaining categories are nominated by staff for their colleagues and partner organisations.

Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Peter Dartford, said: "Vital to the success of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are the people that form the organisation, so it is important that we recognise them, celebrate the hard work they do and the contribution they make to improving the lives and well-being of those we serve.

"Over 100 nominations were received internally and almost 30 from members of the public. A team of staff from across the organisation have had the difficult and unenviable task of shortlisting the finalists in each category.

"The winners in each category will be announced in March and we’re thrilled that Joanne Malin has accepted our invitation to host the event."
