A fire at Cathedral School on The Close, Lichfield has now been extinguished.

The fire involved the first floor office space area of the three storey building. The emergency call for the incident was received shortly before 2.30pm.
At the height of the incident there were five fire engines from Lichfield, Chase Terrace, Tamworth, Tamworth Mercia and Barton under Needwood, along with the aerial ladder platform from Stafford dealing with the incident.
Station Manager, Paul Richins said: "The school carried out a well co-ordinated evacuation of approximately 200 children.
"Firefighters worked hard to prevent the fire from spreading to several adjacent buildings. The fire has caused severe fire damage to an office on the first floor and has caused smoke logging to the whole building.
"A fire investigation will now take place to establish the cause of the fire."
The incident was scaled down to three fire engines at approximately 4.30pm. Firefighters are expected to remain at the incident into the night, damping down and ensuring there are no remaining pockets of fire.
