StreetStadiaTM Easter Event

03/04/2012

A special Easter event will be held at Hednesford Park on April 5 between 12pm and 3pm by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Friends of Hednesford Park.

"StreetStadiaTM is a fantastic opportunity for the local young people in the area to enjoy physical activities and make new friends."

Cannock Risk Reduction Co-ordinator, Katherine Staples

The StreetStadiaTM, which was launched last month, will be available for team games and there will also be an interactive road traffic collision experience on offer for people to see what it’s like to be a car crash and be extracted by firefighters.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Cannock Risk Reduction Co-ordinator, Katherine said: "There will be plenty going on at the Easter event, including egg and spoon races, a visit from Bounce the Easter bunny and the youth bus will also be there."

The new portable sporting arena has been launched by Cannock firefighters for young people aged 8 – 17.

The StreetStadiaTM transforms open space into a dynamic sporting arena. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, in partnership with the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Safer Communities Community Interest Company (CIC) have provided the StreetStadiaTM for the young people of Cannock to enjoy during the Easter Holidays.

Children aged from 8 – 17 are invited to come along on a variety of dates in the coming weeks to enjoy an assortment of free games and activities including dodgeball, football and volleyball.

Katherine added: "StreetStadiaTM is a fantastic opportunity for the local young people in the area to enjoy physical activities and make new friends.

"Anyone who wants to come and use the StreetStadiaTM can check dates, times and locations on the event section of our website and then just turn up in appropriate clothing and footwear and enjoy the arena."
