Uttoxeter Fire Started Accidentally

A fire which hospitalised a Uttoxeter woman started accidentally Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has revealed.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire, we are continuing with our investigations to find out exactly how the fire started."

The fire broke out in a house on Wood Lane in Uttoxeter yesterday at around 2.30pm.

A woman in her 30s sustained burns and was taken to hospital whilst firefighters from Uttoxeter, Abbots Bromley and Longton tackled a severe fire inside the property.

Station Manager, Toby Wilson said: "The woman was outside and receiving treatment from paramedics on our arrival. There was a severe fire in progress inside the house which took over two hours to bring under control.

"The fire has caused extensive damage to the house and whilst we have established that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire we are continuing with our investigations to find out exactly how the fire started."
