Fun Day at Hanley Community Fire Station

Firefighters are holding a fun day at their community fire station on Lower Bethesda Street in Hanley next Saturday July 14.

"The event is free entry and everyone is welcome to come along – there will be something for everyone!"

Members of the local community are all invited to come along between 10am and 4pm to enjoy a host of activities including meeting Service mascot Welephant, seeing the fire service vehicles, a raffle, balloon race, bouncy castle, face painting, live singers and full tours of the station and fire house.

Staffordshire Police will be attending with some of their motorbikes for people to look at and firefighters will carry out a live road traffic collision demonstration and a rope rescue demonstration.

Local charity Approach will also be attending the event where they will have a charity stall. 

Station Manager, Ian Read said: "It will be an action-packed day for all the family Welephant will be there to entertain the children and parents with kids aged between four and eight can sign up to our free Welephant Club. We will also have a fire service information stand where people can pick up fire safety information and arrange a free Home Fire Risk Check.

"The event is free entry and everyone is welcome to come along – there will be something for everyone!"

Free parking for the event can be found at Churchill House 47 Regent Road Stoke- on-Trent ST1 3RQ, refreshments will be available.
