Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Minor Incidents Only at V Festival

20/08/2012

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has praised festival goers for taking heed of the recommended fire safety guidance over the weekend.

"The event as a whole went well and there was an excellent working relationship with the festival promoters and other agencies."

Station Manager, Mick Jahn

The Service attended minor incidents only during the festival weekend and no additional resources, other than the ones on site, were required to attend any incidents.

Station Manager, Mick Jahn said: "We had a number of minor isolated incidents over the three days, mainly bin fires but nothing major. Given that there were over 90,000 people at the event, it was a very small number of incidents and firefighters have dealt with no injuries.

"Firefighters and officers worked on rotation over the three days, providing on site response to incidents and multi-agency co-ordination within event control at all times.

"The event as a whole went well and there was an excellent working relationship with the festival promoters and other agencies."
