26/09/2012

Hanley firefighters will be presenting cheques to local charities at a presentation this Friday.

“We had a fantastic turnout on the day and we were so pleased that so many people came along to support the event. “The generosity of those that came along was overwhelming and we’re delighted that we can share the money raised between these very important charities.”

Hanley watch manager, Paul Shaw.

Firefighters raised over £1500 by holding a fun day at Hanley Community Fire Station earlier this year. Hundreds of members of the public attended the event in July which involved tours of the station and vehicles, fire service demonstrations and entertainment.

The money raised will be shared between; The Donna Louise Trust, Douglas Macmillan Hospice, Arch, Brighter Futures, Red Cross, The University Hospital of North Staffordshire Children’s Ward and The Fire Fighters Charity. Cheques will be presented to representatives from each of the charities at Hanley Community Fire Station this Friday.
