Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Firefighter Recruitment in Brewood

28/09/2012

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is asking the people of Brewood, have you got what it takes to be a firefighter?

“Retained firefighters are essential to the fire service and go through the same training as all other firefighters. Successful applicants will be required to attend a weekly drill night at their local fire station to maintain the high-level of fitness and skill we require our firefighters to have."

Watch Manager Paul Danby

Come and join the Brewood firefighters to find out what it’s like to be a part time firefighter on 1 October 2012 7pm-9pm.

The Service is recruiting retained firefighters for its station on Bargate Lane. Retained firefighters work on a part-time basis providing emergency response cover from either their home or work base, which needs to be within five minutes of the fire station.

Brewood Watch Manager, Paul Danby said: “Retained firefighters are essential to the fire service and go through the same training as all other firefighters. Successful applicants will be required to attend a weekly drill night at their local fire station to maintain the high-level of fitness and skill we require our firefighters to have.

“Retained firefighting is a great option for those wishing to supplement their current income and put something back into the community. It may be that you are unemployed or you may be willing to provide cover outside of your normal day job. Alternatively more and more local employers are now willing to release employees from their duties to attend emergency incidents.”
