Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is challenging budding film makers to better the Service’s official Push the Button video by recording their own versions.
We’re looking for the most original and creative video to help promote our Push the Button message
Head of Risk Reduction, Glynn Luznyj
The best video will be chosen by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer, Peter Dartford, and will scoop one lucky winner a £50 Argos voucher.
The competition is open to everyone and can be entered by a single person or group who need to re-create part of the 'Sugaflames' Push the Button video. The second verse and two choruses can be downloaded from the Service’s website and there is no script to follow, just keep it creative and clean.
The competition is being run as part of the Service’s Push the Button campaign which encourages people to test their smoke alarm on a weekly basis.
Head of Risk Reduction, Glynn Luznyj said: "Our Push the Button video has been circulating around the internet for three years now and has been a huge success; currently approaching 100,000 hits on YouTube. We’re challenging people to take us on and come up with a better video!
"They just need to upload their videos onto our Facebook page or to YouTube and post the link on our Facebook page. It can be recorded on a video camera or a mobile phone and the winning video will then be endorsed on Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s official social media sites.
"We’re looking for the most original and creative video to help promote our Push the Button message so give it a go and who knows, you could walk away with a £50 Argos voucher to spend on whatever you want! You’ll also be helping to keep people safe in their own homes by promoting an essential safety message."
Instructions on how to enter and a full set of terms and conditions can be found at www.staffordshirefire.gov.uk. The Chief Fire Officer’s decision on the winning video is final. Any videos deemed offensive or inappropriate will be immediately removed.
To watch the original Push the Button video, follow the ‘don’t forget’ link on the front page of the Service’s website. Entries to the competition must be received by October 31 and the winner will be notified by November 16.
