Chemical Spillage in Codsall

Firefighters have dealt with a chemical incident at MOOG Aircraft Group on Wobaston Road in Codsall.

"Firefighters in gas tight suits were sent into the building to monitor the situation and once they were confident that the area was safe the site was handed back to the company involved.”

Station Manager Glynn Luznyj.

The call reporting the incident was received at 9.23am this morning and fire and rescue crews from Codsall, Penkridge, Cannock and Newcastle were sent to deal with the incident.

Station Manager, Glynn Luznyj said: “The incident involved a chemical spillage which was contained to a building on the site. The building was evacuated and a 100 metre cordon was set up as a precautionary measure. Firefighters in gas tight suits were sent into the building to monitor the situation and once they were confident that the area was safe the site was handed back to the company involved.”

Crews left the incident at approximately 12.40pm.
