Community Fire Safety Event in Rugeley

Fire and rescue crews from Rugeley will be promoting community fire safety at an event on October 29.

 “This event is a great opportunity to speak to young members of the community about the dangers of playing with fireworks and the lasting damage they can cause if they are not used safely.”

The event will be held opposite St Joseph’s Primary School on Hilltop in Brereton from 6pm until 7.30pm.

The crew will be promoting firework safety, giving advice to youngsters and talking to them about the dangers of playing with fireworks.

One of the hard hitting activities will involve a face painter painting scars on the young people’s faces to highlight the lasting damage that can be caused when playing fireworks.

Firefighters will also be carrying out road traffic collision demonstrations to show how   they release casualties who have become trapped following a car crash.
