Firefighters from Lichfield will be representing Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service in the British Extrication Challenge!
Lichfield were the winners of this year’s County ‘Extrication Challenge,’ which has taken them through to the finals in Glasgow. The competition will take place this Friday at the Glasgow Exhibition Centre and the crew will be up against 40 teams from Fire Services across the Country and two from Spain.
During the challenge the team will be judged on their professionalism in releasing trapped casualties from their vehicles, within a 20 minute time period. The top 20 teams will then go through to the next round to compete for the National Extrication trophy.
Lichfield Watch Manager, Steve Whitehouse said: “After facing a difficult scenario in last year’s final, the crew have been training extremely hard for this year’s competition. There’s going to be some stiff competition but the team are well prepared and feeling really positive!”
