Firefighters from Chase Terrace have raised over £2000 for The Fire Fighters Charity by completing the Three Peaks Challenge!

The four Firefighters and two of their friends climbed Ben Nevis followed by Snowdon and then Scafell Pike.  The event was very challenging for all that took part as there was a set amount of time in which the challenge had to be completed.

Watch Manager of Chase Terrace, Darren Twist said: “The challenge was more difficult than we anticipated. The aim was to complete all three peaks within 24 hours and we completed it in 23 hours and 52 minutes. The hardest part of the challenge was climbing Scafell Pike during the hours of darkness.”

“We raised £1050 through sponsorship and collections at our local Morrisons supermarket. This was then matched by the BP Oil company taking our total amount raised to £2100. The money will be donated to the Fire Fighters Charity which provides support to ill and injured fire service personnel and their families.”

Darren would like to thank the crew at Chase Terrace and the Area Command Team for all their help and support which enabled him and his team to complete the challenge.
