Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Investment in Our Communities

Longton community fire station

The first phase of our successful Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project provided Staffordshire with three new and seven re-built Community Fire Stations.

Our second PFI project is well underway. Chase Terrace, Kinver, Loggerheads, Longton, Rugeley, Leek, Penkridge, Stone and Bilbrook & Codsall Community Fire Stations are now up and running. Burton and Lichfield will be completed in 2016.

The old stations were proving costly to maintain and the new stations increase our ability to be at the heart of the communities in which we serve. They provide modern, fit for purpose facilities for the community and the fire and rescue service. Community facilities are available for use by groups, partners and individuals running meetings and activities for the benefit of the community. Our aim is to support the community through their use of the community fire stations and to use their presence as an opportunity to engage with them, passing on safety messages and understanding more about their needs and priorities. We currently have 100 trusted partners who can access the community facilities and we have over 1500 hours of community room use each month.

More information can be found on our Community Fire Stations page.
