MORE Awards Getting Closer

01/03/2013

There’s less than a week to go until the MORE Awards winners of 2013 are announced. The awards showcase the hard work and initiatives staff and local businesses have undertaken with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service over the past year.

“There have been 25 people and businesses shortlisted, two or three in each of the nine categories, including the publicly nominated Fire Service Champion award."

Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive, Peter Dartford.

This year’s ceremony will be at the Stafford County Showground on Thursday, March 7 with nine prestigious MORE Awards presented.

Paula White from BBC Radio Stoke will be hosting the evening and Paralympic opening ceremony singer, Denise Leigh, will be entertaining the guests on the night.

Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive, Peter Dartford said: “There have been 25 people and businesses shortlisted, two or three in each of the nine categories, including the publicly nominated Fire Service Champion award.

“It’s vitally important that we recognise the contribution our staff and volunteers make, as well as those who work with us to improve the lives and well-being of the communities we serve. It is also right that we celebrate the hard work they do, as there are so many examples where individuals and teams go above and beyond the call of duty to protect the communities of Staffordshire and make a positive difference in their local areas.”
