Firefighters rescue calf from canal

Firefighters have rescued a calf that was trapped in a canal in Stoke.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the situation at Siderway at 7.32pm yesterday.

One pump from Longton attended the incident along a pump, rescue boat and targeted response vehicle from Newcastle.

Crews freed the animal at 21.46pm.
