Fire crews fight blaze in Ashley Heath

Firefighters have tackled a blaze which broke out at a bungalow in Ashley Heath.

Crews from Ashley, Market Drayton, Newcastle, Cheadle and Longton attended the incident which was reported at 1.43am on Saturday, June 22.

They used three main jets and four sets of breathing apparatus followed by the aerial ladder appliance to put the fire out.

The occupants were not hurt following the blaze but were evacuated from the property on Pinewood Drive.

The incident was caused by an electrical fault in an outside wall light. The security equipment set on fire and the flames then spread to the wood on the conservatory and the roof of the residence.

Crews left the scene around 7:10pm that evening and the fire has been classed as accidental.
