Crews extricate casualties

Fire and rescue crews from Brewood, Cannock and Stafford were called to a road traffic collision in Featherstone on Saturday night.

The call was received at 8.54pm reporting the collision on Dark Lane in Brinsford.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find one car and one van that had collided on the roadway.

Two casualties were released from the car by firefighters who removed the roof of the vehicle using specialist cutting equipment.

They were taken to New Cross Hospital by land ambulance.

The incident was closed at 10.01pm.

Later on that night, fire and rescue crews from Hanley and Longton were called to a road traffic collision on Church Street in Stoke. 

The call was received at 10.47pm reporting the incident which involved one vehicle with one casualty trapped inside.

Firefighters extricated the casualty using specialist cutting equipment and he was then transported to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire by land ambulance.

The incident was closed at 11.33pm.
