New parents are to be given top safety tips

08/10/2013

Firefighters will be giving out top tips on road safety as part of an event aimed at new parents.

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will be on hand at Mothercare, Queens Retail Park, in Stafford on October 9.

They will be joined by organisations including Water Babies and Baby Sensory from 6pm-7pm. The parents will be split into groups and given four 15-minute talks.

Firefighters will speak about car seat safety and fire safety in the home.

Visitors will be given a welcome pack at the event which will include information provided by the Service.

People will be asked to fill out in a questionnaire which will be placed in a raffle with the winner receiving a £30 Mothercare voucher.

Places are limited and must be booked by calling the shop on 01785 283760.

Community Safety Officer Ben Shipley said: "This is a great opportunity for new parents to meet representatives from a range of useful organisations and to get some top safety tips and advice."
