Staffordshire Fire Cadets will be helping customers to pack their shopping bags in Longton this weekend.
“The camp is a huge opportunity for them to engage with other fire cadet units in the country and share the skills that they have learned over the course of being a cadet.”
Jessica Patten Development Officer for CFOA.
The cadets will be at the Tesco store, assisting customers with their packing to raise money so that they can attend national camp run by the fire services youth training association in August 2014.
Jessica Patten Development Officer for CFOA said: “The camp is a huge opportunity for them to engage with other fire cadet units in the country and share the skills that they have learned over the course of being a cadet.”
As the event is near to bonfire night, bonfire and firework safety literature will be available for members of the public to take home.
Firefighter Simon Poole said: “It’s important to be educated about the dangers of bonfires and fireworks so you can celebrate safely. We encourage people to attend organised bonfires and fireworks displays instead of holding their own party as organised events are much safer plus more enjoyable for the whole family.
“It is also important that children are aware of the dangers that bonfires and fireworks can pose.
“We are hoping that Bonfire Night will be free from serious incidents for us and that everyone stays safe while they’re having fun.”
The event will take place at the Tesco store in Longton on 2nd November from 10am until 4pm.
