House Fire in Blackbrook

A fire investigation is under way following a fire that happened at a house on Wharmadine Lane in Blackbrook yesterday evening. 

“Due to the location of the property, there was a limited water supply. Portable pumps had to be used to extract water form a nearby pond.”

Station Manager Ian Broadhead. 

The call was received at 5.32pm reporting the fire.  At the height of the incident there were six fire appliances at the scene including an aerial ladder platform and a water carrier.

The incident involved a severe fire on the first floor and roof space of a large detached property. 

There was nobody inside the property when the fire started. 

The occupants had been out and returned home to find the house on fire.

Station Manager Ian Broadhead said: “The fire spread very quickly due to the wooden interior in the building.”

“Due to the location of the property, there was a limited water supply. Portable pumps had to be used to extract water form a nearby pond.”

 The house has been severely damaged by the fire and is uninhabitable.
