A team of firefighters who took part in a charity cycle from London to Paris have raised over £6,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity.

Tamworth Watch Manager, Mark Chaplin, Tamworth Risk Reduction Officer, Brian Roy and HQ based Business Support Manager, John Berrisford all took part in the challenge which involved them cycling over 320k. It took the team just three days to complete, they left London on Thursday morning and had arrived at the Eiffel Tower in Paris by Saturday afternoon.
Business Support Manager, John Berrisford said: “The event was a huge success and we are all extremely pleased at the amount of money we managed to raise. The Fire Fighters Charity is a fantastic trust and it’s great to give something back. During the event we met colleagues from other fire services from around the country who were also raising funds for the fire fighters charity and various other good causes. In total over £20,000 was raised by all fire and rescue services, which is just incredible.”
