The chart below shows that during 2013/14 our total Service budget was £42.475 million. Of that budget £2.616 million was used for fire protection work, this equates to 6.2 % of our total budget for 2013/14.

The graph below shows that the trend for the percentage of total service budget used for fire protection in the last four years rose from 6.1% in 2010/11 to 6.4% in 2011/12, dropped to 6% in 2012/13 and then rose to 6.2% in 2013/14.

Percentage of Fire Protection Officers


The chart below shows that during 2012/13 there were 72.2 full time equivalent fire protection officers. This equates to 6.30% of the total Service workforce of 1147 personnel. In 2013/14 this fell to 68.3 full time equivalent fire protection officers, which equates to just 6% of the total Service workforce of 1137 personnel.
