Firefighters Remain at Hixon Fire

Firefighters have worked tirelessly through the night tackling a fire at JBM Limited in Hixon.

“We are likely to remain at the incident for two to three days as this is going to be a long drawn out process because we are having to extinguish the fire section by section.”

Firefighters from Rugeley, Brewood and Cheadle are currently at the scene fighting a fire that involves10 tonnes of industrial metal waste.

The call was received reporting the incident yesterday at 9.41am.

Firefighters are using a digger to carefully remove small amounts from the pile and cooling the individual amounts using specialist foam.
