Firefighters tackle blaze at disused building

More than 45 firefighters have tackled a blaze at a building in the grounds of a disused golf club in Stretton.

Two crews from Burton, one from Tutbury, Barton-under-Needwood, Uttoxeter and Lichfield attended the fire along with two specialist appliances.

They arrived at Craythorne Golf Club and Centre at around 12.15am today to find the roof was well alight.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.

They are currently still at the site, damping down. An investigation into the cause of the fire is due to get underway.
